Mark specialises in tax and estate planning for private clients, their families and trusts. He advises on trust law and asset protection, Wills and succession planning, as well as on Living Wills and Powers of Attorney. His work also involves the administration of estates (an area of particular interest is cross-border estates), and the administration of charities.

Mark joined Turcan Connell in 2008, having read Modern Languages at the University of St Andrews and Law at the University of Edinburgh, where for some years he was a tutor in the School of Law. He was promoted to Senior Solicitor in 2014, Associate in 2016 and Senior Associate in April 2019.

Mark is a Notary Public, a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and was awarded the STEP Advanced Certificate in Cross-Border Estates with Distinction in 2020. He currently sits on the Boards of Trustees of two charities: Drake Music Scotland (of which he is Chair of the Finance & General Purposes Sub-Committee) and The Nurses’ Memorial to King Edward VII.
