The Scottish Women in Business (SWIB) Awards took place on Sunday 19th May at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow.
Turcan Connell was delighted to sponsor the event, recognising women from across Scotland who are blazing a trail in their respective businesses. Five winners were selected who took centre stage to be recognised across the different categories. Turcan Connell sponsored The Young Star Award and Simran Panesar-Saggu, Associate from our Glasgow office, presented the award to Nikola Kelly of Be-IT. The award is given to a woman between 18-35 years old who shows exemplary innovation, creativity, leadership or business flair.
Other awards and winners presented include, The Communicator Award picked up by Jackie Lee of Artemis Scotland; The Connector Award presented to Corrine Hutton of Finding Your Feet; The Collaborator Awards won by Elaine Sergeant of Glasgow Care Foundation; and The Innovator Award picked up by Marian Bruce of Highland Boundary Ltd.
Zaynab Al Nasser who is a Senior Solicitor at Turcan Connell and the President of SWIB, said: “After building on the success of the previous SWIB Awards, we hope to encourage women to put themselves forward for well-deserved recognition.
“This has been a must-attend event for members and non-members alike to celebrate not only their own accomplishments but also the achievements of their peers; and we offer our congratulations to all the winners and finalists.”
