One of Scotland's leading family law practitioners has been invited to become a member of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (IAML), the worldwide association of practising lawyers recognised by their peers as the most experienced and expert family law specialists in their respective countries.

Alasdair Loudon, a Partner and Head of Family Law at Turcan Connell, is regarded as a figurehead of family law in Scotland, being particularly well known for his expertise in negotiating separation agreements for high net worth individuals, and for the preparation of Pre-Nuptial and Cohabitation Agreements.

The primary objective of the Academy is to improve international family law practice throughout the world, offering advice and assistance to the public, promoting law reform and, where possible, harmonisation of law.

Commenting on his membership, Alasdair said:"I'm delighted to become a member of the IAML. I have often thought Scotland should have a broader representation within the organisation and I believe the international nature of my work with Turcan Connell will help in the communication to a wider audience of family law achievements in this country."
