David Smith

I specialise in charity law and my principal areas of expertise include advising clients on charity incorporation and re-structuring, governance and constitutional change. I also assist with wider governance matters including trustees’ duties and compliance with the Equality Act 2010. As part of my role in the Charity Law team, I have shadowed the Trustees of the National Trust for Scotland and therefore understand the perspective of those to whom I am advising.

I think that clients appreciate my personable approach to what can be very complex situations. By developing a good relationship with clients, I am able to fully understand the problems that they are faced with and provide a solution that is tailored to them.
