Area of practice

Catherine is a Solicitor in the Land and Property Department.   

Catherine advises clients on a broad range of property matters, including the sale and purchase of rural properties, farms and estates, security work and the letting of agricultural and residential property.  She also has experience in residential sales and purchases as well as contentious and non-contentious agricultural law matters principally in connection with agricultural holdings and crofting legislation. 

Catherine graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an LLB (Hons) in 2015, before completing her Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh.  Catherine joined Turcan Connell as a Trainee Solicitor in October 2016 and qualified as a Solicitor in October 2018. 

Catherine grew up on an arable farm in Perthshire and continues to be actively involved in the family business. She has a strong interest in agricultural policy and sits on the SAYFC Agri and Rural Affairs Committee and the NFUS Legal and Technical Committee.  She is also a member of the Women in Agriculture (Scotland) Committee.
