Alistair acts for clients in relation to a broad range of property matters, including the sale and purchase of homes, farms and estates, leasing arrangements, servitudes and renewable energy developments. He has particular experience in the small-scale renewables sector, whether advising landowners in relation to their own projects or landowners and developers in connection with leasing and joint venture schemes.

Alistair advises on the operation of the Feed-in Tariffs Scheme (FiTs), particularly in relation to farm-scale wind energy developments, where he also deals with the contractual and property aspects. Alistair actively monitors and advises on the changing interplay between the various green energy subsidy schemes, including FiTs, the Renewables Obligation Scotland, Contracts for Difference and the Renewable Heat Incentive.

Having graduated LLB (Hons) from Aberdeen University in 2007 and completed the Diploma in Legal Practice in 2008, Alistair trained with Turcan Connell and qualified as a Solicitor and Notary Public in 2010. Alistair was promoted to Senior Solicitor in 2013, Associate in 2016 and Senior Associate in 2018.
