Chris specialises in tax and succession advice for individuals and families, and in the area of charity law. Chris was assumed Partner at Turcan Connell in 2015.He advises on Wills, Powers of Attorney, Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax matters. He has a particular interest in estate planning involving heritable property and in advising entrepreneurs and family business owners. Chris also has extensive experience in managing Trusts and handling Executries.

As a member of Turcan Connell's Charities Legal Team, Chris advises charity trustees and chief executives on all aspects of charity law including legal structures, governance, risk, regulatory compliance, and constitutional modernisation.Chris trained at Turcan Connell after reading psychology and then law at Aberdeen University. He has served on the Court of Aberdeen University and is currently appointed by the WS Society as a trustee of the educational charity John Watson's Trust. He is the UK legal member of the Interallied Confederation of Reserve Officers, and is a member of the Finance Committee of Scotland's Churches Trust.

Chris holds the Investment Management Certificate from CFA UK Society and is a former holder of the President's Prize of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). Chris is a member of STEP and of the Chartered Management Institute.
