Alix Storrie is a Partner and Head of Turcan Connell’s Tax and Succession department. She specialises in tax and estate planning for private clients, their families and trusts. She advises primarily on Wills and succession planning, including lifetime and post death tax planning, trust law and asset protection. She has considerable experience in dealing with complex issues arising out of landed estates, including claims for reliefs such as business and agricultural property relief. She also advises on Powers of Attorney, Living Wills and local authority financial assessments for residential care.
Alix joined Turcan Connell in 2002 after graduating from University of Aberdeen (LLB Hons DipLP). She qualified as a solicitor in 2004 and was promoted to Senior Solicitor in 2007 and then Associate in April 2009. Alix was assumed as a Partner in 2014 and became Head of Tax and Succession in 2019.
Alix is the Chair of the Scottish branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners' (STEP), a Notary Public and an editor of the Scottish Private Client Law Review. She is also a former tutor on the Private Client course of the Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh and was previously named one of Private Client Practitioner's UK Top 35 Under 35.
