Alistair specialises in high-value estate and farm sales and purchases and deals with general rural property transactions, including forestry, salmon fishings, country homes, loans and securities, servitudes and renewable energy developments.  He advises a number of estate owners on the property aspects of their ongoing estate management and acts for a number of urban fringe landowners, with experience of option and leasing arrangements for development sites of various sorts.

Alistair has particular experience in the small-scale renewables sector, advising both landowners in relation to their own projects and landowners and developers in connection with leasing and joint venture schemes.  Alistair monitors and advises on the changing interplay between various green energy subsidy schemes, where they remain applicable to clients’ renewables developments.  He is noted as recommended in the Legal 500 rankings.

Having graduated LLB (Hons) from Aberdeen University in 2007 and completed the Diploma in Legal Practice in 2008, Alistair trained with Turcan Connell and qualified as a Solicitor and Notary Public in 2010. Alistair was promoted to Senior Solicitor in 2013, Associate in 2016, Senior Associate in 2018 and Partner in April 2019.
