Following last month’s announcement of the firm’s new Managing Partner, Gillian Crandles, and new Partners, Graeme Gass and Alistair Rushworth, these new senior roles will have client-facing responsibility as well as leading on some key internally-focussed matters.
Commenting on the new positions, Chairman, Simon Mackintosh, said: "We are very pleased to welcome Jenny Younger and Kenneth Pinkerton in their promotions to the newly created role of Legal Director. As Legal Directors they will have particular responsibility for our relationships with a number of clients, as well as a management role, and will apply their specialist professional skills widely across our tax and succession and charity teams.”
Kenneth Pinkerton specialises in the fields of charity law, tax and estate planning for private clients, trusts and executries. His experience of charity law is extensive, covering the entire spectrum of advice to charities both large and small from operating to grant-giving. He has advised on governance matters as well as on establishment, reorganisation and general legal matters relating to charities and is a specialist in the areas of guardianship and capacity.
Jenny Younger works principally in the areas of trusts, asset protection and succession planning. She regularly advises clients on a wide range of issues, with a particular emphasis on capital taxation (inheritance tax and capital gains tax) and estate planning issues. Jenny also deals with the preparation of wills and powers of attorney for clients, and is involved with the setting up, administration, re-organisation and termination of trusts, as well as assisting families and executors with the winding up of deceased persons’ estates.
