Money managers in Edinburgh agree that the Bank of England will turn on the printing presses again this year as the economy flags. They are not unanimous on what it means for government bonds.
While some are predicting a rise in gilts, Haig said he isn't"going anywhere near" the bonds, the world's worst performers this year.
"You can't continue creating inflation all the time and have interest rates at record lows.
"At some point rates will have to rise and that will trigger a sell off."
