Turcan Connell is delighted to be sponsoring'The Queen: Art and Image', an exhibition featuring portraits of The Queen, which opens at the National Galleries of Scotland in June this year to mark Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee in 2012.

The exhibition, which is being staged by the National Portrait Gallery in London, will tour the United Kingdom and will feature images of The Queen spanning the 60 years of Her reign. The exhibition will feature a wide range of portraits in different media, from artists as diverse as Cecil Beaton and Annie Leibovitz to Pietro Annigoni and Andy Warhol and will track the evolution of royal portraiture over the last six decades.

Joint Senior Partner, Douglas Connell says:"As we approach this historic anniversary of Her Majesty's accession, Turcan Connell feels privileged to be involved in such a very special exhibition.

"We are enthusiastic supporters of the arts and particularly value our long-standing relationship with the National Galleries of Scotland. It is great that we in Scotland are having the first opportunity to view this remarkable range of images.

"For so many of us, there has been only one monarch and it is fascinating to see the way in which such different artists have portrayed the Queen over these six decades of Her Majesty's reign."

The touring exhibition will open in Edinburgh before moving to Belfast and Cardiff and onto the National Portrait Gallery in London in May next year. 'The Queen: Art and Image' will run at the National Galleries of Scotland in Edinburgh from 25th June until 18th September 2011.
