The Treasury confirmed on 23rd September that there will be no Autumn Budget this year. However, there will be a spending review which will be published in the autumn and this will set out the government’s spending plans for parliament.
There has been much speculation about tax rises but any announcements now look likely to be put on hold until early next year. This gives a slightly longer window of opportunity for those considering carrying out tax planning ahead of any tax changes.
