I am approaching the end of the final seat of my traineeship with Turcan Connell and I am still amazed by how much I have learned over the past two years with the firm.

I applied for a traineeship with Turcan Connell because I was interested in gaining experience across a broad spectrum of private client work from one of the UK's premier private client firms and I have not been disappointed. During my traineeship I have worked in the following areas of the business:

  • Property Law
  • Business Law
  • Tax & Succession
  • Charity Law

During my time working with these teams I have experienced the high quality legal services that Turcan Connell provides and have seen first-hand how my work has helped the range of clients with whom I have worked.

In every team of which I have been a part, I have enjoyed working in a friendly and supportive atmosphere, where someone is always available to answer one of the many questions every trainee is guaranteed to have! At the same time, I have always been given responsibility for my own workload and I have benefitted from an excellent level of client contact afforded to me from the beginning.

I have spent the majority of my traineeship as a part of the Tax & Succession team and I am now looking forward to qualifying into both the Tax & Succession Team and the Charities Legal Team. Over the course of my traineeship, these are the areas that I have found most interesting. I have had the responsibility of setting up a charity as well as handling a complex Executry and I am excited to continue to have a varied workload upon qualification.

It is the personal nature of private client work that has made the last two years so enjoyable for me. It is my opinion that Turcan Connell offers the best training, in both quality and variety, in this area so I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Good luck with your search for a traineeship!
