Lauren McDonach

Associate

I advise clients on a variety of family law matters including financial provision on divorce, cohabitation claims and the preparation of pre and post-nuptial agreements. I have experience in child contact disputes, as well as adoption and surrogacy cases. I frequently conduct cases in both the Sheriff Court and the Court of Session.

I am a supporter of legal education and widening access to the legal profession in Scotland and am a tutor at the University of Strathclyde, and mentor for the Lawscot Foundation.

Often, clients will come to see me at an emotional stage in their life and they value my empathetic and approachable nature which helps to put them at ease. One of the most important parts of my role is the ability to take a step back and look at the legal issues without the associated emotions. This approach helps to resolve disputes sensibly and pragmatically.
