OSCR’s Interim Safeguarding Guidance
Gavin McEwan, Partner and Head of Charities is presently the Chair of Live Music Now Scotland and member of the Charity Law Reform Committee of the Law Society of Scotland: he will discuss OSCR’s interim safeguarding guidance against the backdrop of significant and notifiable incidents.
Financial Statements – what do they say?
Marion Hopper, Partner, Hardie Caldwell leads its Charities Focus Group responsible for all services provided to Hardie Caldwell’s charity and not for profit clients. Marion will give a brief overview aimed at assisting chief executives and trustees in understanding and interpreting financial statements including the consideration of restricted funds, going concern, reserve policies and dates throughout the year for management purposes.
Draft Scottish Governance Code for the Third Sector
Kenneth Pinkerton, Senior Associate, Charities Legal Team and present Chair of East Park School, Glasgow will present an overview of the draft of the Scottish Governance Code for the Third Sector which, “…sets out the core principles and key elements of good governance for boards of charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises in Scotland.”
