With one of the largest teams in Scotland, we have the specialist skills required to cover all aspects of family law including complex financial negotiations, divorce and dissolution of civil partnerships.
We are frequently instructed to prepare prenuptial, postnuptial and cohabitation agreements and deal regularly with the international and cross-border aspects of family law. We have the expertise required to advise on the legal implications of adoption and surrogacy, parental rights and responsibilities, arrangements for childcare following separation, as well as relocation and abduction cases.

It is important to offer a sense of reassurance. I want our clients to know they’re in the right place, that they’re understood, they’re safe and that all their needs will be looked after. In our world, we need to find a balance between being kind and empathetic to the difficulties that our clients may be experiencing and, at the same time, reassuring them that we’ll do what it takes to protect and pursue their interests doggedly and fearlessly.
At the same time, I take a pragmatic approach. We won’t fight unnecessary battles, we won’t add to costs without justification. We’ll always try to help clients see the bigger picture and we’ll always try to steer them to the resolution that works best for them.
That means staying close, responding quickly and, of course, being assured and confident that I really know my subject matter – both the law and the individual’s personal circumstances.

It’s personally rewarding to achieve a result which enables our client to look to the future with positivity.
It’s rewarding work and childcare cases which resolve amicably with the child placed at the forefront and their future stability secured are particularly precious to me.
