Background

We have exciting opportunities for one or two lawyers to join our Land & Property team in the Edinburgh office. Ideally individuals will be Scottish qualified with post qualification experience but applications from newly qualified solicitors will be welcomed.  The successful candidate(s) will have experience of general rural conveyancing, having sound practical and commercial knowledge of Scottish property transactions.  Part time and flexible working will be considered.

Our Land and Property team provides advice on all aspects of rural and urban property transactions.  Along with handling the purchase, sale and leasing of property, we also advise on all legal aspects of managing and financing property.

Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be expected to handle a broad range of rural conveyancing matters, including the sale, purchase and leasing of farms, estates, forests, fishings and other rural properties in Scotland, and generally provide advice with regard to any conveyancing matters that arise in the course of the management of property.  The work will include residential conveyancing (usually in the rural setting), ranging from properties of a modest value to high value properties.  Experience of on-shore renewable energy developments would be a bonus.

You will be self-sufficient, commercially aware and able to handle a wide variety of challenging work with minimum supervision.

In providing advice to clients, you will work with other private client experts to ensure that fully integrated holistic advice is given to our clients.
