Wills and Estate Planning
Almost everyone should have a Will. As well as setting out how you want your wealth passed on, it can provide clear instructions for the care of your children in your absence.
The first part of any estate plan is a Will. A properly written Will provides many benefits:
- It ensures your estate is divided up as you would like, not as someone else thinks is right
- It can reduce the amount of inheritance tax you pay
- It sets out who should be the legal guardians of your children
- It can make financial provision for the future of your children
In order to do this, Wills are usually written as part of an overall estate plan that includes trusts.
