Child-related issues

It is generally accepted that having access as early as possible to the best advice is a key factor in how well parents or other carers manage the child-related issues relating to changes in family circumstances. In all situations we offer the widest possible range of skills to manage the situation with the goal of achieving the best possible outcome for the children concerned.

The primary issues at the front of any separating parent’s mind are the children’s residence (custody) and contact (access) between the child and the parent with whom they are not primarily resident. We provide sensible advice to guide parents through this unfamiliar territory and are well placed to advise our clients on the best use of negotiation, mediation, collaboration and litigation. We can support parents in resolving any differences of opinion amicably where this is possible and, where an agreement is not possible, our skilled litigators can provide advice and guidance on the Court process.

We are also well placed to provide advice on the child-related aspects of International Family Law including Relocation Agreements, Interdicts (Injunctions) and the Hague Convention in relation to international child abduction.
