Alexander Garden
Partner, Trust & Tax and Charities

Alexander Garden is a Partner specialising in tax & estate planning for private clients, and charity law. In particular, he advises on issues concerning succession, trust, taxation (with both UK and international dimensions) and asset protection.
Alexander was assumed as a Partner in April 2007. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (and sits on the Scottish Branch Committee), a Member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners and accredited as a specialist by the Law Society of Scotland in both Trust Law and Private Client Tax Law.
He speaks regularly at specialist conferences, is co-author of tax annual "Trusts and Estates in Scotland" (Bloomsbury), contributes articles to professional journals including Scottish Private Client Law Review and is a former tutor on the Private Client course of the Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh. Alexander is also a non-executive Director and vice-chairman of the charity Art in Healthcare, and a Governor of Kilgraston School.
Chambers UK 2008 identifies Alexander as “up and coming” in the charities sector and describes him as delivering an “excellent service” to clients.
