Alexander Garden is a Partner specialising in tax & estate planning for private clients, and charity law. In particular, he advises on issues concerning succession, trust, taxation (with both UK and international dimensions) and asset protection.
Alexander was assumed as a Partner in April 2007. He was Turcan Connell’s first trainee, joining shortly after the firm’s inception in 1997, having studied Law at the University of Aberdeen. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, a Member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners and accredited as a specialist by the Law Society of Scotland in Trust Law.
He speaks regularly at specialist conferences, contributes articles to professional journals including Scottish private Client Law Review and is a tutor on the Private Client course of the Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh. Alexander is also a non-executive Director and vice-chairman of the charity Art in Healthcare.
Chambers UK 2008 identifies Alexander as “up and coming” in the charities sector and describes him as delivering an “excellent service” to clients.
