Chris Sheldon

I specialise in tax advice, the legal structuring of family wealth and estate planning for business owners and entrepreneurs in the UK and internationally. I write wills, establish and manage family trusts, partnerships, and family/property investment companies. I also work extensively in Scottish Charity Law. I am a member of the Law Society of Scotland’s Trust & Succession Law Committee and of STEP which is a global professional body of practitioners that help families plan for their futures. I serve as a charity trustee of the Thistle Trust, as a non-executive director of Entrepreneurial Scotland and recently served on the Council of the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce.

I find advising a real privilege. It is highly rewarding being able to get to know a family, to hear and understand their objectives, and provide legal and tax advice which helps them navigate opportunities, challenges and times of crisis.

I like to build mutual trust and respect by investing in client relationships and developing an understanding of what is important now and in the future.
