Hubert deals principally with tax and estate planning, his clients include a number of company proprietors and family businesses. He specialises in the tax planning arrangements for business succession and sale.
Hubert is also very involved in the firm's offshore trust work, having established its Guernsey office and spent some time as resident partner there. A particular specialist area is the structuring of financial arrangements.Having read law at Edinburgh University, Hubert trained with W&J Burness before working with the Lord Advocate's Department in London, where he was responsible for drafting Scottish legislation. This was followed by a spell as Company Secretary to Leopold Joseph (Holdings) Limited. He returned to Scotland to become a partner in W&J Burness, moving to Turcan Connell in December 1997.
He is a member of STEP, the Securities Institute, and is a trustee of several pension funds.
