Alison specialises in tax and estate planning, particularly for entrepreneurs and company directors. Her expertise covers capital taxation, succession, trust law, charity law and asset protection.

After graduating from Edinburgh University, Alison trained with W & J Burness, and on qualifying moved into private client law. She moved with the practice to Turcan Connell in 1997, and became a partner in April 1999.

Alison tutored taxation at Edinburgh University for five years. She is now an external examiner for The Law Society of Scotland and runs the firm's In-house Trust and Taxation Seminar Programme. She is also Chairman of STEP Scotland (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners).
