11 April 2007OEIC Funds Out-perform Benchmark
Turcan Connell is pleased to announce that in the first quarter of the year both of its OEIC funds attained their three-year record, achieving significant out-performance compared to their respective benchmarks.
Balanced Fund
The flagship Balanced Fund was launched in December 2003 and has an objective to provide long-term capital and income growth from a multi-asset portfolio consisting of global equities, bonds, commercial property and other asset classes through collective investment schemes.
Since the Fund was first funded in December 2003 it has produced a total return of 56.0% (to 3rd April 2007), this compares favourably with the IMA Balanced Managed peer group return of 49.4% (source Lipper).
Income Fund
The Income Fund focuses on providing a consistent level of income with progressive capital growth and makes distributions in the form of interest rather than dividends. This is advantageous for gross investors (i.e. PEP/ISA or Pension funds) where there is the ability to reclaim the tax credit, a feature not available for funds that make dividend payments.
The Income Fund achieves this through a global portfolio providing exposure to: bonds, equities and commercial property collective investment schemes. There may be occasions when the investment manager chooses to hold a high level of cash or money market instruments. There is no particular emphasis on any geographical area or any industrial or economic sector.
Since the fund was first funded in January 2004 it has produced a total return of 28.5% (to 3rd April 2007) which compares favourably with the benchmark return of 23.9% over the same period (source Lipper).
