A Lesson for the Law

Turcan Connell is delighted to be sponsoring the Postcards for Sick Kids 2006 event taking place at Lyon & Turnbull on 16 November. Douglas Connell, Joint Senior Partner of Turcan Connell, and Paul Roberts, Vice Chair of Lyon & Turnbull were on hand today to receive the first batch of postcards and a painting lesson from Anna Pentony, aged 4, possibly one of the stars of a future event.

Douglas Connell said: “We are really pleased to be sponsoring this wonderful event once again and hope it will be very successful in helping to make sick kids even better.”

Maureen Harrison, Director of The Sick Kids Friends Foundation, said: “Postcards for Sick Kids has always been an enormous success for us ... not just in terms of the much needed funds which it raises, but also in ensuring that our profile remains high with a large number of the Scottish public. This exhibition brings art lovers from far beyond Edinburgh and gives us the opportunity to showcase our projects like the Drop In Centre which provides extra advice, information, support, counselling and activities for children with long-term conditions and their families. We are really grateful to Turcan Connell for their continuing very valuable support. We raised £30,000 from the exhibition in 2004…and we hope that together we will beat that this time round!!”

The exhibition and sale of the postcards will comprise of 216 works of art by well known Scottish, UK and overseas contemporary artists. Each painting is displayed anonymously so buyers may purchase a work by a current master or a future one!!
