Turcan Connell lawyers among the first to be awarded new specialist accreditation

Two of Turcan Connell’s tax and trust lawyers have been awarded The Law Society’s newest accreditation in Private Client Tax Law. Partners Ian Clark and Alexander Garden are among the first lawyers in Scotland to be awarded the new specialist accreditation which was announced by The Law Society earlier this year.

This specialism recognises a high level of technical knowledge and experience of income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax, as well as a strong understanding of stamp duty land tax, VAT and all other tax principles. To be awarded the new accreditation, applicants must demonstrate not just a detailed practical approach but a strategic grasp of all tax issues affecting individuals, trusts and estates.

These new accreditations add to a number of other specialist accreditations held by members of Turcan Connell’s trust and tax team – the largest practice in Scotland dedicated to private clients – and reaffirm Turcan Connell’s position at the forefront of private client law practitioners in Scotland.
